Core Staff
Nigel Bush, PhD - Director
As inHealth’s director, Dr. Nigel Bush oversees the group's activities
and liaises between the scientific, health, and technology communities.
He also provides expertise in research design and, through his own research,
keeps inHealth at the forefront of the field of IHC.
Dr. Bush was educated at the Universities of Nottingham and Southampton
in the United Kingdom. Since completing a senior post-doctoral fellowship
in cancer pain research, he has been employed as a senior staff scientist
at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle for the past
17 years. Dr. Bush specializes in the use of Internet and other interactive
technologies in public health and health research and in clinical health
related quality of life (QOL) research.

Diane Powers, MA - Manager
inHealth manager, Diane Powers, works intimately with each client
to ensure that project needs are clearly understood and addressed. She
leads both the client and the inHealth team from the initial contact through
to project completion by coordinating all communication and documentation.
Ms. Powers earned her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Seattle
University in 1987. She has over 13 years project management experience
at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and has managed a broad
variety of public health and cancer prevention research studies, including
clinical trials.
Abi Ludwig – Systems Analyst, Lead Programmer
Abi Ludwig provides the technical expertise for inHealth, from database design and
application programming to analysis of emerging tools and technologies.
She has also served as a member of the investigative team for two population based
randomized controlled trials studying interactive communications for public health.
Ms. Ludwig serves as the liason to the Fred Hutchinson Center network and
linux system administrators who provide the technical infrastructure necessary to support
inHealth projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems
from Trenton State College in New Jersey.
Andrea Detter – Web Copy Specialist, Tester
As a web copy specialist, Andrea Detter provides guidance in developing new text
for the online environment as well as transforming copy originally designed
for print materials into a format and style appropriate for the Web. She
also develops end-user documentation and tests all websites to ensure
their functional and content quality prior to release.
Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University
of Washington. She has more than five years of experience in science and technical
writing and editing.
Henry Pan – Graphic Designer, Web Developer

Our consultant in multimedia, including Flash and Shockwave animation,
streaming video, and CD Rom is Henry Pan. Mr. Pan started his career at
Walt Disney Imagineering, working on a variety of projects from large
theater shows and interactive kiosks to specialty websites and promotional
materials. Over the past five years, Mr. Pan has expanded his sphere of
expertise to include video production, special effects, compositing, web,
CD-ROM, and print design.
